ECIRP Announces Industry Appreciation and Business Study Mission to Japan

    November 4, 2016
The East Central Indiana Regional Partnership will conduct an Industry Appreciation and Business Study Mission to Japan from November 10 – 18, 2016.   The delegation will be comprised of representatives from east central Indiana including elected officials and economic development leaders from the cities of Richmond and Rushville.

The purpose of the mission is to express appreciation to existing industry partners which have facilities located in east central Indiana; to explore opportunities for future economic development, investment and trade; and to learn firsthand from Japanese corporate and manufacturing leaders about trends in business and manufacturing.  “I am very appreciative of the relationship we have established with our Japanese business counterparts. This trip will help to solidify those relationships, as well as begin to build new connections that will hopefully foster new business in the future. I want our partnerships to be mutually successful.” Said Richmond Mayor David Snow.
Japanese industry has been represented in east central Indiana for many years and employs nearly 4,000 people.  More broadly, the State of Indiana ranks as a top location for Japanese investment in the United States with 260 companies employing 52,000 Hoosiers.  “INTAT Precision has grown their business twice in the last four years, which accounts for nearly $50 million in investment and more than 70 new employees.  This trip is paramount in our efforts to thank INTAT’s parent company, Aisin Takaoka Co., for the investment into our community, while potentially developing new relationships that may nurture additional investment and economic opportunity in Rush County.” Said Mike Pavey, Mayor of Rushville.
    Delegation Representatives:
Mindy Kenworthy, President, East Central Indiana Regional Partnership
The Honorable David Snow, Mayor, City of Richmond
