Established in 2005, the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership’s mission is to market the assets and resources of the 10 county East Central Indiana region. The Partnership teams with local economic development organizations and the state’s lead economic development agency – the Indiana Economic Development Corporation – to bring capital investment and new jobs to the region and to assist existing businesses grow and prosper. The Partnership serves as the initial point of contact for economic development for the area.
Member counties of the Partnership include Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Rush and Wayne – offering a population of more than 534,000 residents.
Competing in the global economy requires developing a regional framework that focuses on a clear, cohesive and unified economic development strategy and projects a positive business environment to outside companies considering the region while encouraging the expansion and retention of existing businesses.
One of the primary roles of ECIRP is to help facilitate and participate in regional initiatives that promote partnerships and collaboration.
An initiative currently underway, ADVANCE – A Vision for East Central Indiana, is a strategic plan that provides an opportunity to think big about the future of east central Indiana. It’s a collaborative process that focuses on increasing the prosperity for residents, businesses, institutions and local governments in the region.
The council is made up of the 10 local economic development officials to oversee economic development efforts throughout the region.
