• Indiana Fiber Network, LLC provides state-of-the-art connectivity along its 1,600-mile fiber optic backbone; it offers services in major metropolitan areas and Indiana’s underserved areas.
• In 2004, Indiana became the first assignee of FiberCo optical networking assets between Indianapolis, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois. FiberCo was established in 2003 by a consortium of 205 universities working with government and industry to develop and deploy advanced networking technologies for acquiring, holding and assigning dark fiber assets on behalf of the higher education community.
• I-Light is an optical fiber network for higher education which initially connected Indiana University Bloomington, Purdue University in West Lafayette, and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. I-Light now has over 1,000 miles of fiber reaching into all four corners of the state. I-Light improves Indiana’s position as a national leader in high-speed networking.
• Fibertech Networks, a premier broadband provider, has quickly established itself as a high-quality provider of metro-based fiber optic transport services in Indianapolis and is looking to expand its services to Fort Wayne and South Bend.
