East Central Indiana Regional Partnership Highlights the Region’s 2017 AccomplishmentsMarch 12, 2018
The East Central Indiana Regional Partnership presented the region’s 2017 accomplishments at their Annual Stakeholder Luncheon last Wednesday, March 7th. The organization detailed both project activity from the 10-county region and recent marketing efforts. Businesses in east central Indiana announced 2,718 new jobs and a capital investment of over $527 million in 2017.
“East Central Indiana is fortunate to have local, regional and state partners who support ECIRP’s mission to promote the 10-county region for new business investment and talent attraction. Achievements include projects that will bring new jobs and investment to ECI in addition to collaborative efforts that will develop the region’s workforce and promote quality of life,” said Mindy Kenworthy, President and CEO of the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership.
In 2017, the organization promoted the region with several marketing tactics to help support and develop east central Indiana. The Partnership coordinated site consultant meetings to many cities throughout the year such as Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, New York and Cleveland. Additionally, the organization attended and exhibited at several conferences throughout the country.
During the luncheon, Kenworthy also highlighted the Partnership’s marketing efforts in promoting quality of life such as their magazine publication, Livability East Central Indiana. “As workforce continues to get tighter, we see the importance in promoting the benefits of living and working in our region,” said Kenworthy.
The guest speaker at the luncheon was Tony Soverns – chief technology officer of Go Electric. The company is a battery tech start-up located at the Purdue Polytechnic Institute in Anderson. Soverns spoke to attendees about the history of Go Electric and their mission of accelerating a resilient renewable energy future.
The luncheon was held at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie and sponsored by Umbaugh and AT&T.
